Miroslav Marcikic, better known as Miro, spent much of his early life in a Serbian town, Becej, which had a very strong Waterpolo and Swimming club. So strong that in the year 2000 he was part of the team that was crowned European club champions. After finishing his playing years with the club he was offered to start coaching young waterpolo players from the team. This is where his long coaching career began.
Miro arrived to Malta in 1991 and started working as a coach in Malta in 1993 with WPC Neptunes, followed by stints at St Paul Bay and St Joseph Birkirkara.
He has been coaching freelance since the late 90s and has worked with many institutions including the National Swimming Pool, Fortina Hotel, Radisson Blu Hotel, and most recently the Cynergi Health and Fitness Club.
Miro specializes in individual attention classes for all age groups and all levels – both for keeping fit as well as competitively. He also coaches small groups.
