Squash

Cynergi boasts two WSF approved squash courts, available free of charge to club members or €5.00 per person for non-members.  Members of the Malta Squash Association benefit from discounted court charges on presentation of their membership card.

Courts can be booked by calling the club on 237 10 700.

In fact, 2010 saw an ever increasing number of members taking to the sport of squash at Cynergi’s two newly refurbished squash courts. With over 25 regular squash players using the courts, Thursday night became Squash night, with members of all levels meeting up to train, take part in practice matches and challenge each other.

When this proved to be a huge success, Cynergi was in a position to create its very own official squash team in order to participate in Malta’s first Squash Challenge Cup, which began in October 2010 and concluded in March 2011.

Team Cynergi was captained by Nigel Dunkerley (who recently became a national team member for Malta). The team consisted of 7 players (ranked from 1 to 7), each of whom had to play their equivalently-ranked counterpart in the other competing teams: Livingwell, Marsa Sports Club and occasionally (as guests) the Gozo squash team.

Although Team Cynergi is very new from a competitive team squash point of view, we played in some very close matches throughout the season, with some memorable repetitive duels!

After six events and 118 matches, Livingwell proved to be the strongest team overall and won the Challenge.

This year's challenge hits off on Saturday 29th October. For more information, click here.
